Sushi Rice

Ingredients

  • 250 g Sushi rice
  • 300 ml water
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • tsp salt

Method

  1. Rinse rice under cold water until the water is clear.
  2. Add rice to a pot with 300 ml water and let sit for 10 minutes. Then bring to a boil and cook on high heat for 2 minutes. Then cook rice on lowest heat with lid on for 10 more minutes. Remove pot from stove and spread out the rice in a sheet pan to allow for quicker cooling (do not put in fridge!).
  3. In a small saucepan, bring to a boil rice vinegar, sugar and salt. Let cool again.
  4. Sprinkle the whole vinegar mixture over the rice and gently stir.
