Sushi Rice
Ingredients
- 250 g Sushi rice
- 300 ml water
- 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- tsp salt
Method
- Rinse rice under cold water until the water is clear.
- Add rice to a pot with 300 ml water and let sit for 10 minutes. Then bring to a boil and cook on high heat for 2 minutes. Then cook rice on lowest heat with lid on for 10 more minutes. Remove pot from stove and spread out the rice in a sheet pan to allow for quicker cooling (do not put in fridge!).
- In a small saucepan, bring to a boil rice vinegar, sugar and salt. Let cool again.
- Sprinkle the whole vinegar mixture over the rice and gently stir.
